Zen
Studio Pet, Yoga Dog
Zen is Rob's faithful companion and a staple at the studio. She's the one that greets you when you walk through the door. She's a Labradoodle, so she's hypo-allergenic. Take some time to pet her and give her a few kisses. She's fully trained, super-friendly, and loves kids!

In 2008 she participated in Moksha Yoga's inaugural Level 2 intensive training, and also acquired pre-natal yoga certification with Cynthia Funk of the Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto. Megan PopovicMeg
Teacher
After completing the Chicago Marathon in 2003, Megan's blossoming curiosity of yoga and spirituality was met synchronistically when the Moksha studio opened right under her condo building in London. She fell in love with both the practice and Moksha immediately, as hot yoga linked her previous training as a competitive athlete with her deeper needs of mind-body connection and sense of community. Megan participated in the second-ever Moksha Teacher Training in 2005 and has since taught in London while completing her PhD in Kinesiology at The University of Western Ontario.

A passionate teacher in many domains, Megan integrates her studies on yoga & action sport cultures, involvement in kinesthetic experiential learning, public speaking and leadership facilitation, and national-level figure skating background into her yoga classes. She is committed to bringing yoga into into elementary and secondary schools in Ontario and is volunteers with the New Leaf Foundation. Her dissertation, titled "Stories of (my)nd body and Soul: Experiencing the Feminine through an Autoethnographic Imagination", is near completion and Megan is ecstatic about the next steps in her life path.

Melanie Gutz
Teacher
Melanie was introduced to Hatha Yoga during her search for alternative forms of exercise. However, her commitment to yoga developed when she stepped into her first hot yoga studio in September 2004 and has been addicted ever sense.

Melanie has completed an intensive Moksha Yoga Teacher Training program in Thailand and in October 2007 completed the Level 1 Baron Baptiste Teacher Training Bootcamp. She now welcomes students to her physically challenging classes where she encourages you to balance effort by finding ease in every posture.

Being her own witness of personal transformation on and off the mat she invites students to make that discovery for themselves.

Elyse Maltin
Teacher
Although Elyse only discovered Moksha yoga just under two years ago, it's hard for her to remember a time when it wasn't an integral part of her life. Practicing hot yoga has enriched her life immeasurably, both physically and mentally. She's a busy girl, between pursuing her PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Western, playing numerous sports, and being heavily involved in the V-Day/Vagina Monologues movement to end violence against women and girls. She finds that practicing Moksha yoga helps her find that much-needed balance in her life, and teaches her to meet each moment with gratitude, one breath at a time.

The Moksha teacher training was an extraordinary experience for Elyse, putting her on a new path that she is eager to explore as she continues to learn and grow. Elyse feels incredibly blessed to be included in the Moksha family, and is excited to share her passion and love for all things yogic as a new teacher.

Christa Mabee
Teacher
I have been a teacher at Moksha yoga since I got back from my training in India in April 2008. Before that I had been a student at Moksha London for 3 years and for me Moksha was love at first pranayama :)
The Moksha community has been such a huge part of my life and has given me so much and now as a teacher I want to give that back to my students. I am a graduate from the Randolph Academy for the Performing arts, and I have found a beautiful tie between my training in theatre and my yoga practice. I find they compliment each other. I also work for Lululemon Athletica in the Masonville mall. This has also been a wonderful discovery and connector of my passions. My core values are integrity, compassion, and family. I used to be in a field where I was not balanced in these values, and I was unhappy in my spot in life. I now spend my days riding my bike from home (in London with my amazing fiance and little doggy Binks!), to the stude, to the store, and back and I LOVE every minute of my life! I am so greatful for everything I have and for this incredible community we are all apart of here at Moksha. In my classes I hope my students can find a sense of balance between a calm body and mind while pushing themselves to their edge in each posture and leaving each class with a sense of accomplishment. I believe in the power of goal setting, and I encourage each and every student to set goals and work hard to achieve them no matter how big (or small) they seem. See you in the hot room!!! LET'S GET SWEATY!!!!!

Tara Kachroo
Teacher
Tara came to yoga while a graduate student at UWO, hoping that yoga would help to relieve anxiety and bring balance to an overly intellectual life. She found both relief and balance, along with a host of other physical benefits, and a warm and loving community.  After practicing for three years, she completed her teacher training in 2007 in Toronto. After two months teaching yoga at Moksha Yoga Trinidad, Tara moved back to London in the summer of 2008 and has been teaching here ever since.

Tara's other passions include sewing, digital photography, drawing,
and science fiction.  She's committed to finding personal balance and developing community.  She hopes that her teaching will inspire others to find ease, not only on the mat but also in all of the difficult situations that arise in life.

Ian
Teacher

IanAs a life-long student and scientist, Ian's life has been dominated by the intellect. He first tried yoga as a way to help him rescue his body from the neglect of academics and put his mind back in his body where it belongs! He practiced various types of yoga for four years before committing to a regular yoga practice after discovering Moksha in 2007. He completed his teacher training in Toronto in 2008 and has been teaching at Moksha Yoga London since October, 2008. His new challenge is to balance teaching yoga with his yoga and meditation practices and his pursuit of a Ph.D. in developmental cognitive neuroscience at Western.

Ian loves food from local farmers, science and science fiction, water in all its forms, hiking/camping, and southern Appalachia. His yoga practice has taught him that peace is not an abstract concept, but a real feeling. He hopes that his teaching might help others to find some peace in themselves and spread it around in this troubled world. He's dedicated to strengthening community in and out of the yoga class, wherever life takes him.

Namaste, y'all!

Paris Moghtader
Teacher

Paris As an artist & graphic designer, Paris has found the original sense of art rising out of her yoga practice. She was always someone on the go, from school to work to the gym back to work again, and it hit her one day that she needed something else in her life to help her stop and enjoy the moment…and so her yoga journey started. Soon after, the world of hot yoga came into her life. She found that after each practice her stress was gone and she could stop to breathe in the moment. Hot yoga became a passion in her life and after two years of personal practice, she started thirsting for deeper knowledge, which led her to the teacher training course in India in March 2009.....what an amazing experience! It is through the practice of yoga that has led Paris to a deeper appreciation of the balance of living life.

Paris brings this love of yoga through in her teaching and hopes she can help her students find the same balance in life.

Livia Keidan
TeacherLivia
Livia discovered something special with yoga and has been practicing for many years. When Liv found hot yoga, she loved it! The passion led her to complete an intensive 5 week training in Kerala, India in March 2009. It was transformative. She has cultivated inner peace and continues her growth and learning daily.

Liv is grateful for all the things in life including her children, supportive partner Ernie and her Incredibly sweet dog Radar! She is concerned about the environment and making wise choices for a “greener” world. She produces videography for Lern2Liv Productions. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and walking. "Enjoy the little things in life because when you look back, you may realize they were the big things".

Brian Groot
Teacher
BrianBrian’s Moksha journey began when he stepped into the crowded London studio on a snowy Friday night to attend a Karma class with some friends. He thought some yoga would be a great stress release and the stretching in the heat would be good training for his running. Every time he came to a class, he would love it more and more and only a few months later he was practicing in the hot room almost every single day. The benefits were not only seen as reduced stress at work and at home and an increased calmness in general, but by some large results in his running. He qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 2:56’ when only a year earlier he was struggling to come in under 3 and a half hours at the same race. Brian was convinced that doing hot yoga was the big secret.

In 2008, Brian pushed the envelope by attempting to run 5 marathons in 6 weeks while participating in a 30 day challenge. Surprising even himself, it was a huge success, including an 8th place finish at the Toronto Marathon with a new personal best time of 2:46:30”. Brian says his success on the road wouldn’t have been possible without the daily yoga practice. That experience inspired Brian to take a new direction in his life and want to do more of what he loves so he registered for the Moksha teacher training in India for March 2009. One of Brian’s favourite things about Moksha is the balance between effort and ease, being gentle and kind to our selves while also exploring our limits and stepping beyond our comfort zone. When Brian isn’t teaching or taking a class, he might be off running yet another marathon somewhere. Brian’s goal is to one day, travel from coast to coast on foot and by bike and visit every Moksha studio along the way. His vision is to bring Mindfulness Running to the rest of the world. Brian is so happy and grateful to have such a great community of teachers and students to be a part of.

Libby ClarkLibby
Teacher
Libby stepped into her first hot and sweaty yoga class at Moksha Yoga London in 2005. She was immediately addicted and captivated by the unique ways in which the practice balanced out her life and the stresses of first year university. After falling in love with the practice, the deeper connection with herself, and the strong sense of family and community acquired through Moksha Yoga London, she decided it was only natural to attend training in July 2008.

Libby was lucky to have the opportunity to move to Edmonton, AB. After becoming part of the Moksha Yoga Edmonton family, her mind and body were challenged in new ways and she grew into a stronger person, yogi and teacher. Libby was blessed to teach at Moksha Yoga Edmonton, Moksha Yoga Calgary, Moksha Yoga London, and other non Moksha affiliated studios in Alberta. Libby is deeply thankful for the talented and loving teachers she has had the opportunity to learn and grow from, and hopes to share the joy and light that she has received from them with her students. Libby believes in the power of thought, the mind-body connection, and finding clarity and strength through breath. Libby’s practice has become a tool to finding a deeper connection with herself and others, and with that she has learned that people are all teachers and there is something to learn from everyone.

Dianne Morgan
Teacher
The wonders of yoga have woven their way through my life for the past 12 years, but it was at my first Moksha class about 4 years ago when I knew I had discovered something truly extraordinary. The challenge of the posture sequences, the intensity of the heat, and the welcoming and comfortable atmosphere of the studio, all balanced perfectly upon a strong and nurturing community foundation: here, I had found an oasis.

In November 2006, personal tragedy rocked my world to its roots, and the subsequent struggle to regain my footing has been enormous and at times, seemingly impossible. Moksha has offered serenity and gentle support and has played an integral part in my ongoing healing process. Then, with the encouragement of my family and my Moksha friends, my path led to an incredible trip to Kerala, India in February 2010 where I proudly completed the 5-week Intensive Moksha Teacher Training Program. From there, I travelled north to explore the colourful and enchanting capital of Delhi, the awe-inspiring Taj Mahal, and the spiritually rich ancient city of Varanasi on the River Ganges.

Now, with this remarkable life experience under my belt, I am simply delighted and honoured to join the teaching staff of Moksha Yoga London, looking forward to further adventures and learning.

Beyond yoga, I find pleasure in reading (ravenously!), strength training, travelling, foreign films, and journaling in the summertime paradise of my family’s peaceful back yard.
